Late work loses 5% per day after a 24-hour grace window, capped at 25%.

1–5 calendar days late	5% of the item score per day	Counted from the end of the grace window; partial days count as a full day.
6–7 calendar days late	Capped at 25% of the item score	The deduction stops growing at 25% so a late but complete item can still pass.
More than 7 calendar days late	Score of 0 unless excused	The item is recorded as missing and counts as zero in the weighted final grade.
